[Yuletide reveals!]

* When age steals away wishes (this is the moment replayed) - A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Sissy, gen. When I was rereading the book, I could not get over the line about Sissy trying to join the baseball games when she was pregnant. So that’s how that started. And in the middle of writing it V & I went to Silent Movie Mondays, and that helped too.

* Always chasing, always choosing - "To My Star", Jiwoo/Seojoon. This is the pinch hit I almost took, because I love these low-stakes BLs about adults, and because I really liked how the prompt pushed back against BL tropes (especially "I’m not gay; I just like him" (not that that happens in the original series, but it's common)). I enjoyed spending time with those beautiful idiots, but now I’ve had the theme song in my head for a week.

Also, not Yuletide but it didn’t seem like it needed its own post so I held it a day:

* Steady now - "A Tale of Thousand Stars", Tian/Phupha ficlet for Final Rundown. Speaking of beautiful idiots.

Anyway! In addition to my gifts (plural! One in Snake Eyes and one in the so-called Sapphic lipstick commercial!), my favorites that I read were…nothing in anything where I share fandoms with any of you. But the Wu Yuheng/Fu Sichao one (I love it so much, I’ve read it twice, fuck I miss Chuang a lot A LOT), the Faye-focused That Thing You Do! one, and the AU for The Power of the Dog are the ones that stuck with me.
