[First lines]
I just looked over my Yuletide after letting it marinate for a week, and it’s fine, so that’s a relief.
2022 first lines & a bit:
* It’s been twelve years, but Sirius would still recognize that voice anywhere, even coming out of a tinny phone speaker while the absolute infant in the queue ahead of him - okay so she’s probably sixteen, but still - says “he’s like, so old, but he’s hot.” Classic rock, Marauder Rhombus.
* All throughout Chuang there were other trainees in Bo Yuan’s bunk, whether he was there or not, looking for comfort, advice, or a dark corner away from the cameras. Old clothing, Chuang2021/INTO1 (Also, this was true. Boys in his bed all day long.)
* Ohm has thought about kissing Nanon in every room of the Prince Palace Hotel, from the laundry room to the Presidential Suite, and if he’s honest with himself, that’s half of why he took the job: the possibility of a late shift, an empty room, a view of the bright lights of Bangkok they could never afford on their own. First kisses, Just Friend music video (I have a note to nominate this for Yuletide next year; it’s so stinkin’ cute.)
* Phupha is out late on a risky patrol - they’ve had word of poachers - and Tian is channeling his nervous energy into tidying their small space when he gets into a scuffle with a stuck drawer. Undelivered message, A Tale of Thousand Stars.
* I’m overtired, Tian thinks. Waiting for the wind, A Tale of Thousand Stars.
* Phupha digs out the number one afternoon while Tian is still in class. Kites, A Tale of Thousand Stars (lol I forgot about this community altogether - I read my flist on show=P)
* Korn doesn’t remember what the argument was about anymore, the first time it happened, but it doesn’t matter. One wall away, Cupid’s Last Wish (whew, the EarthMix vibes were big this year.)
& then Yuletide, so here’s 2021’s Yuletide:
* At seven, Sissy loiters near the lot, waiting for her chance to come. When age steals away wishes (this is the moment replayed), A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
* Jiwoo isn’t surprised when Seojoon doesn’t believe that he’s dated before. Always chasing, always choosing, To My Star.
Plus one that I wrote after the meme last year (to get to a round number of words; will I do it again? Yes, probably.)
* “Where are you going?” Tian whines, eyes still closed, one hand poking out under the covers and grabbing ineffectually at the tshirt Phupha is trying to pull on. Steady now, A Tale of Thousand Stars.
