[let's type right in the post box like a Wild Thing]
So, Bluesky is really working for me. I am there in two hats - marginalia (fandom) & wickedjaws (everything else).
I understand why it might not work for some, but I am old enough to remember when images being added to Twitter was controversial, so honestly the only thing I really need right now is for threads to work better so I can link live posted nonsense. & I was never using Twitter for work or networking or anything - I just needed a place to get short stuff out of my head and maybe have one or three people see it, so Bluesky is fine for that. & I pretty much immediately found a few fannish folks, which I never did on Threads, so I'm like boom, sorted, & now M* only has to hear like a third of what happens on my Thai soaps, which is surely a relief to her.
I currently have two invites, and I seem to get them about every week and a half, so if you're interested, let me know.
Life is what it is. Work was a little rough lately - we were down a person for a month and a half for various reasons, and down a person is a big deal when you're an over-stretched 4 person team - but I think we'll be back to fighting weight Monday. We're still feeling good about the new boss, who even if she can't fix everything right away, definitely sees the issues and is starting to make some moves.
I went to three different sporting events in a single week and everyone lost (but the Seahawks also lost, so my coworker said it was not my fault; it was a Seattle issue.) I learned I definitely do not need to go to a Mariners game again any time soon, holy pajamas there are just too many people. I just went because V asked & I thought well, haven't been in over a decade, might as well give it a go, and it was both Bark in the Park AND First Responders Night which was an experience, also it went 11 innings but we were like we gotta stay to see the dogs walk around the bases! Which we did, and that was worth it.
M* & I renewed our season tickets to the Reign for next year, which is good and strange (and reassuring, as a person who constantly expects sudden rejection for anyone to be like "yup, definitely want to hang out with you at least 13 times next year.") Why is my brain like this.
& Local Sightings started yesterday. I decided to do it all online on account of the fact that then I would not have to wear pants, and also because then I can watch half a batch of shorts and wander off and come back to them later. Which is exactly what I am going to do now. <3
