uh. i refuse to write dialect. bite me, jkr. part of dorrito's every flavour mood beans.

Wool snarled around his fingers and his needles lay in pieces. His father calmly muttered, "Reparo!" and the skein appeared neat and whole on the table, the two shining needles stuck through it.

"Don't know why I can't Charm it. Won't they teach me that at Hogwarts?" Rubeus grumbled.

"There isn't a spell for everything, my boy. Your mother's not around and I won’t be here forever. There are things you will need to do for yourself." His father smiled kindly. "Besides ladies often take kindly to a gentleman who knits."

Rubeus bit his lip in concentration and began again.

I read this four times and loved it more each time, and *then* I noticed which mood it's for, and loved it all the more.

i reread all the books at the start of the summer when i didn't have a computer, and that was the first note i took, all caps, HAGRID KNITS. and i had been waiting ever since for the perfect place to use it.

It's a great project, and we're seeing so many "minor" characters, it's lovely. But ... who else but you would have picked up on it and made it into something so ... true?

Not many people - in my experience - see the details and their possibilities like you.

well, i just want to be able to write something different from what everyone else has written. and so small details about small characters seems to be the best way to do that :D
