stuff:
  • still hunting for the key into today’s lotrips100 challenge. especially after the smackdown. eep.
  • am v. v. glad that we can skin lj now. i was getting awful tired of changing to the beta test, but i did because it’s so much cleaner. yay!
  • i’m a little in shock that this is getting recced, but since it has gone over far better with others than it has with me, i’ll mention it here. fluffy dom/billy. no real plot.
  • i feel so disconnected without my precioussss laptop. splitting my time between the iSchool labs and my mother’s infernal machine does not a happy jaci make. i have frums full of bookmarks for fics to read. plus, i’m not really settled yet. as far as i can tell i'm not going to have a weekend free for getting organized . .until it’s time to move back out again.
  • jason webley show - may 3rd. I still need to buy counterpoint

*head explodes*

so, for next week's angel . .  )

and finally, michael moore to roger ebert on his oscar speech:
"I completely blew it by not saying what I wanted to say, or using my sense of humor. I have played this over in my head so many times. I don't disagree with what I said in terms of content. It's about the delivery. I didn't expect to win, and I started to panic. It was a classic example of poor delivery, improper reading of the room, and not feeling comfortable in the moment."
interesting, especially now that i've seen the independent spirit awards version of that speech. the delivery was far less aggressive.

well, then. off to class. i'm not really settled in the quarter yet, but i think i just might love all of my classes. i'm taking cataloging, research methods, and information in a social context, which is basically copyright and intellectual property law. very cool stuff.

of course, it's only the second week.

to give you an idea of how long my commute is now, i read all of the hobbit except for the last fifteen or so pages on the bus today. white teeth, which i started in between Actual School Reading yesterday is next.

ghost world ahoy )

ahahaha. i wanted to use this definition of pride: "A flamboyant or impressive group: a pride of acrobats." but i won't. especially now. yeah, i get that it's a challenge, but to me the challenge is more about playing with words. and i like to attack them from slightly weird angles. imho the challenge responses are more interesting that way - when there's variety. also, i really don't think i'm a good enough writer to keep in character -and- write someone really jaded.

but, maybe that's just me.

meh.

ETA - ah, hell. did it anyway. regal, cate/liv, prompt, as aforementioned, was "pride".
